Friday 20th of March completed our Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations. We had Tom Delaney (Ould Crafty) from Claremorris an artist keeping the traditional craft of basket making alive. Tom spent the day with us in St.Anthonys Special School explaining his craft and the willow and products he uses. He helped the students to make beautiful bird feeders that they got to take home. Senior E had a wonderful start to the year, enjoying some memorable field trips that brought their learning to life. As part of our work on villages in Ireland, we visited Knock where we enjoyed a fascinating tour of the museum and the Basilica, expertly led by Mary from the shrine office. The pupils learned so much about the history, community and significance of the village. In line with our learning about medieval castles, we were treated to a truly special day at Ashford

Senior D are working on their global goals. Environmental protection, and sustainability education. 🌍 We took part in picker pals and enjoyed looking after our locality.

Senior D enjoyed making St. Brigid's crosses to celebrate Lá Fhéile Bríde and composted the remaining rushes.

This term as part of our commitment to healthy bodies-healthy minds the pupils are learning the skills of badminton.

To celebrate National Lego day all the pupils got the chance to be as creative as they could making anything out of Lego. A great way to start the week.

Laura Bullard parent from the school initiated a school fundraiser before Christmas. Laura has supported the school in so many ways over the years and so eager to help in any way she can. With much appreciation and thanks from The Management, Staff and Students of St. Anthonys school.

This month Primary 3 have been exploring the wonderful world of Winter & Artic Animals. Through sensory activities, stories, art, music & our new poem I'm a little Penguin, the children have been learning about animals such as polar bears, Penguins, Artic foxes & snowy owls.
